THE PRODUCERS

Beer Quest is the result of the dreams and thirsts of filmmakers Jonathan LaPearl and Kieran Valla.  The two met while studying at Hofstra University and have been friends since.  When both men were laid off from the same company at the end of 2008 (just in time for Christmas) they decided, presumably over some tasty craft beer, that enough was enough and that they’d take the opportunity to forge their own destiny.

Scraping together whatever money they had left and an overabundance of pocket lint and ambition, they set out to create a show which would enable them to share their love of good, craft beer with the world – and hopefully enable them to travel and drink said beer for a living.

After a lot of hard work, help from some good friends, and a fair amount of drinking they now bring you their vision.  With a little luck and some support, they hope to bring it to a television station in the near future.

THE HOST

Steve LaChioma is another Hofstra alum who can also be seen in many of Ragtag Productions works (another group of Hofstra alumni and friends of the show).  With Ragtag, Steve has been featured in We Need Girlfriends, I Live With My Parents and Marry Christmas I Gave You Herpes (a personal favorite of the Beer Quest crew). Steve has also been recently featured in the web pilot Graduates and an online video for College Humor.  When the producers were picking their host Steve fit right in with his childlike wonderment, quick wit, and love of great beer.
